State Electrical Certification
Electrician certification will go into effect January 1, 2006 with out further extension and the ETI is in the process of broadening our curriculum to meet the near and long term needs of our industry. On January 1, 2006 every electrician working for a C-10 contractor will fall into one of the following classifications:
-
Certified Electrician - having past the state test and qualifications.
-
Apprentice - registered in a state approved apprenticeship program.
-
A Trainee - registered with the state and enrolled in a state approved curriculum of class room study, the employer must attest that the trainee is working under the direct supervision of an electrician certified pursuant to section 3099 who is responsible for the supervision of no more than one uncertified person.
-
Unemployed.
Also on January 1, 2006 the clock will start running for all certified electricians to start taking their 32 hours of approved continued education, so they will qualify for re-certification in three years.
For further information either contact the ETI at 323-221-5881 or check back here.

Once they have completed the online application, they can call or
come into the Long Beach City College records office one business day later and get their
student ID and password.
-
Once the student has the ID and password, they will be given a
registration appointment date.
They can register in the classes anytime after that date.
In addition to the ID and Password, they will need the class number
for the class they want to sign up for.
