LAETI is helping Long Beach high school seniors take their first STEP toward an electrical career! Through the Seniors to Electrical Program (STEP), LAETI and its partners are connecting students with apprenticeship training before graduation—and a direct-entry pathway into IBEW Local 11’s apprenticeship program for those who meet all requirements.

VEEP Cohort 15 has officially graduated! We’re proud to celebrate these veterans as they take the next step into the electrical industry. From inspiring remarks by keynote speaker Marty Riesberg to the presentation of diplomas and tools, the ceremony marked an exciting new chapter for these graduates. Congratulations, Cohort 15!

We are proud to announce the graduation of 20 veterans who successfully completed the Veterans Electrical Entry Program (VEEP). These dedicated individuals—representing the Navy, Army, Marines, and Air Force—are now ready to embark on an exciting new journey in the electrical industry.

On Thursday, July 31, ETI welcomed 30+ high school girls from LAWA’s Girls Build LA Careers Exploration Program for a day of discovery in the electrical and renewable energy trades. The day kicked off with an overview of ETI’s Apprenticeship Program, introducing how students can earn while they learn in a rewarding electrical career.

The Electrical Training Institute is proud to announce that one of our standout apprentices, Alexander Geeslin, has been selected as a recipient of a prestigious NTI return scholarship at the 2025 National Training Institute (NTI). The award was officially presented during NTI’s Opening Ceremony, held Sunday evening at the University of Michigan.

If you've been to a job fair around LA County recently, chances are you've seen Miguel Sanchez's big smile, ETI gear on, and ready to talk to just about anyone about the incredible opportunity our apprenticeship offers.
